psychosexual therapy
Sex and sexuality can be deeply personal aspects of our lives, shaping how we experience ourselves, our bodies, and our relationships with others. Yet they can also be areas of uncertainty, conflict, shame, or distress, particularly when our experiences seem at odds with our expectations, desires, or the values we have come to hold.
Alongside general therapy, I work with clients on a wide range of psychosexual concerns. These can include difficulties with sexual function, intimacy and desire, compulsive sexual behaviours, sexualised drug use, and experiences of sexual trauma. I also support people in exploring their relationship with sex and sexuality more broadly, including the ways these intersect with cultural, religious, or personal values.
For some, therapy might begin with a particular difficulty or pattern of behaviour that has become troubling. For others, it may be less about resolving a specific problem and more about making sense of their experiences, understanding their desires, or finding a way of relating to their sexuality that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
I recognise that our sexual lives do not exist in isolation. They are shaped by our relationships, histories, identities, and the social and cultural worlds we inhabit. What feels pleasurable or meaningful to one person may feel complicated or uncomfortable to another, and these experiences can change throughout our lives.
My approach is affirmative, non-judgemental and collaborative. Rather than working from a fixed idea of what a healthy or fulfilling sexual life should look like, I aim to offer a space in which we can explore what sex and sexuality mean to you, and what you might wish to understand, change, or embrace.
Whether you are seeking support with a particular concern or simply wanting to understand this part of yourself more fully, we can work together at a pace that feels right for you.
